Film Studies at Augsburg College

In Film 1 students learn the basics of exposure control, shot selection, and framing.  Many students chose to add sound tracks to their projects.  But these sounds, usually songs, are not sync-ed to the image.  They are what’s called ‘wild sounds’.  In Film 2 students first experience the process of filmmaking with sync sound.  This is an example of a class exercise.

Advanced Video class exercise in producing

By the time film students take this course they have completed several lower division production courses.  In Advanced Video they fully comprehend the story telling process but have yet to truly experience the planning and logistics required to execute a production with a full complement of crew members and a multiple member cast.  This is an example of a class exercise where each member of the class is performing a dedicated task.
